Cheers James, I'll do that for the front as well then. Will disconnect the front shock fully too, gonna order some of those turret ring things or whatever they're called while I'm at it just in case
 
Same set up as you, should look the same as yours really as I did a rolling radius thing and I'm using 245/75's which are close to the 265/70's that you've got. Theres bugger all in it but I'll be happy with how it looks.

Managed to pinch a spare sunroof motor from our other disco too so thats my sunroof problem fixed :) gonna tiger seal it up tomorrow and hopefully get most of the little jobs done too so I've got the rest of the week free for the springs and breathers :D
 
Gave my new springs a work out at the Extreme course at the weekend - all good, and no crashing and bashing like I had with my old springs, and the extra inches certainly helped ;)

All in all a good job jobbed :D
 
Didn't really manage to get a proper before and after pic of mine although I think I might have one somewhere

However here's some of mine next to a bog standard one, I'm running 245/75's the other is running 235/70's I think or 235/65's cant remember but mine sits a littler higher as you can see

Would be interested to see how much taller it is to mine with you having 75's muds and me having 70's AT's...

Could have sone with Muds at the weekend at the Bristol & West show, as it was pretty sloppy - my AT's made it tho - so its impressive what they are capable of ;)

I think yours might actually be bigger than mine, aren't you running 265/70's ?
 
yeah, but the '265' is just the width ;)

When I looked at mine there doesn't seem much room between the tyre and the rockslider end (if that makes sense) to fit another 2.5cm of tyre without getting a lot of rubbing, and the tyre size sticky linky isnt working either to check on that....

but on the same basis:

265 70 16 -v- 245 75 16

Rolling Radius: 244.23 cm Rolling Radius: 243.13 cm
Total Diameter: 77.74 cm Total Diameter: 77.39 cm
Sidewall Height: 18.55 cm Sidewall Height: 18.38 cm

Wonder if Muds are bigger though with deeper tread - maybe we are around the same then ;)

Yeah I think the muds are a bit bigger as they have the chunky tread, these Maxxis have a lot of it. No problems with looking too close to the front arch though

I know I said I wanted standard, but with these I wont need any further modification, and will give me a little extra which will help when I bang on my new expedition rack ;) plus my insurance company were fine with this.

All in all, inc vat and delivery came out at £117.90 from 4x4 autoparts online. they guy I spoke to was very helpful and knowledgeable too - so far I would certainly recommend then (and no I have no connection with them).

If you just want standard height then you need:-

Bearmach Heavy Duty Blue Springs - BA 2106 - rear with 0mm lift
Bearmach Heavy Duty Blue Springs - BA 2105 - front with 0mm lift

They too come out at the same price.

Am going to try and fit them myself - well with help from a friend, so will keep you posted on how we get on.

Stu, thanks so much for this post, been going 'round in circles trying to spec' springs; like you I didn't want to go extreme with the lift, just improve the ride and mild aesthetics, was given some duff gen (even from an "expert") but had come down on the same solution as you. Was reassuring to read what you wanted, what you bought and how it turned out. The springs should turn up shortly. Matched them with Terrafirma shocks which permit extra travel. Here's hoping :)
 
No probs - good look with your setup.

Since then I have put in some 1" spaces to get a little bit more height without compromising the ride too much ;)
 
I have put on the britpart yellow gas shocks they seem to be ok not a patch on bilsteins gas shocks i put on another vehicle if i was keeping the disco long term i would have put bilstien shocks on but the ones i put on seem to work fine.
