Been getting the SRS Airbag fault on the dash and MFD. The faultmate clears it and it pops straight back.

The faultmate is giving the error of 'permanent fault right side' but nothing else.

Aside from wiggling the cable under seat anyone got any other sensible advice or seen this fault before
 
I get the something thing but I cure mine by wiggyling the wires under the passenger seat :D sorry mate nothing sensible to add....when does the new one arrive I will pop in for a brew

What year is the car? Does it have side airbags?

2001 i think from his details. So yes side bags. I would add that wiggling the wires under the seat with ignition on is not a good idea. You are supposed to disconnect battery and wait half an hour before playing with SRS.
 
yes its a 2001.

from the wealth of experience is it just the underseat connectors that cause issue.

I had the passenger side throw up a fault a couple of years back and cable tied it in place, with no futher issues since, but the right side, its been wiggled, moved, twisted, pushed wiggled more and still no joy. it did go out for a for a few hours, but dammit, just had to drive it didn't it I !

the wife is away in it today but at the weekend ill pull the plugs apart and squirt with contact cleaner.

it seems to be 99% of the SRS fault light seems to be the underseat connectors, would that be correct ? it is dry inside

Yes that would be correct seat adjustments seem to loosen them over time. Have you checked connections to seat belt tensioners? Have you checked the bulbs. If one fails the other one stays lit.

Connections to seat belt tensioners? There are no connections to the seat belts on mine.

So, how does one check for seat belt pre-tensioners? Neither my 99 model or my late 2000 have any wiring to the seat belt reel that I have seen, is the wiring route shown in RAVE? Be interesting to check if the feature is fitted.

Pretensioners and wiring to them are shown in MY 2000 RAVE SRS electrical diagrams. As his car is 2001 it most definitely should have them.
