Squeeky/rattly noise when accelerating!

Took the disco out for a spin this evening and i had a loud screaching/squeeking/rattling noise that sounded as if it was coming from the front drivers side wheel. The more i accelarate the louder it seems to get and it is sending vibrations through the steering wheel!

I have checked the wheel bolts and they are all tight!

I do have a leak from the from pinion seal which i will be replacing on thursday, do you think it could be linked? no oil etc?

any ideas would be much appreciated, Thanks

That sounds really bad, I would want to ensure there is some lubrication in the swivel and the wheel bearing.

If you jack that wheel off the ground, can you feel play?

You'll need a tube on "1 shot grease" for the swivel and some bearing grease. This sounds like it needs urgent attention

+1 I reckon either bearing going or gone or a cv on its way out.

Check your wheel bearing first. If it's not that delve deeper.

I thought i would give it a run to the jet wash before i try and fix it and the noise has totally dissapered and seems back to normal!

Should i still worry or leave it for now, do the pinion seals and keep an eye on it??
