Hi everyone,

I think this is a common problem so you might be able to help me out.

something at the front of my 90 squeaks a bit each time the axle (or possibly wheel? not sure.) goes round, but it doesn't always do it and i can't normally hear it over the engine. the UJs have all been recently renewed and i pumped grease through all the nipples until the new stuff came through, so i don't think it's those.

can anyone think what it might be? the wheel bearings are fine, differentials are topped up with oil...i can't think what it would be, but then again i'm not a mechanic

any help solving this would be much appreciated as i'd be happier with this noise gone :)

If not the guard, then I'd lift each wheel and spin it to narrow down whether it is wheel speed related or prop, and which side...... then look for the source.....

Hate those squeeks! Grrrrrr. Good luck, A

Have you got anti-squeal shims on behind your brake pads?

Presumably you have discs all round?

If you have, it might be an idea to take them out and give them a thin smear of CopperSlip.

have you recently been offroad in it?

I came out of whaddon with an intermittent squeak on my 90, turned out to be a small stone stuck on the brake caliper ;)

thanks curry, but i'm 95% certain it's linked to the wheel turning (unless, of course, the radius arm bushes have to do with that) i'll be having a look tomorrow morning when it's on an inspection lift so hopefully i'll find the cause of the problem
