My 57 plate 110 defender. Has developed another unusual noise. After turning the ignition off I get a few squeaks as if something is still spinning but squeaking. I also get the noise if I blip the throttle when idling. I assume it's the fan belt but I have read something about the harmonic equaliser (sounds like a good name for a Bob Dylan based super hero!). Any thoughts?
Thanks

Scrap that about the fan belt. I just had a listen with the bonnet up and the noise seems to come from the passenger side between the dash and the engine, possibly? The 2 land cruisers Ive had before the 3 defenders I ve had weren't this interesting!

Is it a TD5? 2007 was the changeover point between the TD5 and the TDCI. The TD5 has that rotary oil filter which carries on spinning for a while sometimes after the engine has been switched off and sometimes you can hear it.
