The family 90 is playingup. 57 plated 2.5 Puima engined, 6 speed version.
Just under 40, 000 miles Running fine Friday but 12 hours later a bit of a whine then a click. My instant thought was "thats a belt gone" and I stopped within seconds. Nope. Well the belt I can see under that whopping great cover is fine. Now a more and louder whoosy sort of whine. Seems to be throttle based as when I limped home the noise didn't increase with engine revs, when changing down, but it did with throttle load. No obvious power loss but I was not giving it any welly just limping home.
Left it over night to teach it a lesson .
Any obvious places to start looking once I get that dirty great engie shroud off? Turbo hoses maybe?
