It locks the pulley.So I spose it would put the stress onto the key. Can't remember now if the pulleys on a taper or what, But it worked anyhow.does yer tool (ooer) lock the pulley or the crank? Only if it locks the pully and the bolt goes into the crank doesn't that put a lot of stress on the woodruff key as you torque the bolt up?
