how much would it cost me to have my td5 rear air backs taking out and replaced with springs

hi i was going to do the same untill i called my insurance who will want 50% of my insurance cost again because it a modification i had all the work priced at £265 including parts and vat not many places would do it cos it needs to have all the faults read afterwards not sure what to do now

I had mine conevrted last week, It cost £70 for the full kit, and then i bought rear gas shock absorbers which cost £50 all from paddocks. The fitting was free apart from the cost of some beers to the brother in law.

thats good but i aint got anyone to do it so have to pay garage :frusty: what about your insurance landy luke ?

ok i need new pas pump left and right height sensors exhaust manifold blowing at back no 5 i think he said also thrush bearing making noise but thinking of leaving that for the moment only does it in the morning when i reverse off drive i think thats it for now

all straight forward jobs to be honest, broken manifold stud "could" be a pain to remove but thats about it.

ok so what sort of cost i was told the manifold would need machining the level it is that right ? i think most garages see a woman and just take the .... lol

£50 ish at a guess to machine it

i got a price form a local land rover mechanic to do my springs £125+vat

oh trust me i have bought a pile of ..... been to consumer direct and sent letters to the garage where i bought it from who because i am woman have given me the run around for 5 weeks he even told me he would come and collect it and fix it DOH i belived him a pretend garage called to say they would collect but when i said i needed a courtesy car they changed there mind they r now not who they said they were when i call and turn phones off if that makes sense lol i will give the full details of the garage on here to warn others to stay clear i called the so called director of the company yesterday and he pretended to be someone else its a fu**ing joke

chris its £265 this end x and she has new bags so think might just be height sensors fingers crossed but when the bags go and if this dont fix i will be convertin x

i wouldnt bother telling your insurance if you change to coils.
