Possibly a strange request but my lightweight which sits on a designa coil sprung chassis and what i think are standard disco 1 / RRC springs sits a bit high ,so high in fact that now ive got the engine and box in (300 tdi and lt77) the rear prop which had to be shortened now fouls on itself at the gearbox end

I think il be able to shave a mm or two off the parts of the yokes that touch the flange as a short term fix but my thinking is the shaft wont last long

Are there any springs available off the shelf and on a budget that would lower the landy by an inch or two ?

Having looked at the britpart lowering springs again i see they are orange ,as are my rear springs (i always wondered why someone chose to paint the springs orange !!)

Does anyone know how to tell if the rear springs i have are lowering springs ?

Also does anyone have experience of fitting an lt77 box to a swb series ? the mounts had been made when i bought it but i feel the box is too high as the drum doesnt sit at 90 degrees (top is forward which makes prop angle worse)
to drop the box further i would need to chop a peice out of the cross member

by measuring height once removed from vehicle
ive fitted a few and seen many fitted they can vary, is it original series cross member because i cut them out and fit defender cross member similar to this just bolts in

Iv got a friend dropping off some standard springs to compare

Standard series bolt in cross member ,its a galv chassis and not sure the holes are there for the defender type
