Hoping I can draw on your guys expertise.

I'm replacing the springs on my Defender because the ones that are on look ready to shatter, and I need to take one out anyway to patch a small hole in the chassis.

I'm therefore trying to ensure that I get the correct type of springs to match the weights of my truck, front and rear.

Front - I have a small A-bar, steering guard and axle guard, all which weighs a bit. I'm thinking this may push the front end from light to medium when considering springs?

Rear - Not much going on. It's a 110 CSW, I have a spare modular with bigger tyre on the door, and a ladder and rear roof rack, but beyond that nothing extra. Can I assume the rear is still considered to be 'light'.

Thanks

Just fit standard Defender front and rear, the extras are not that much.May be worth changing shocks at the same time at least on the front as they have to come off to do springs.

Thanks for that. I did consider it to be fairly stock, but didn't know if the front additional weight would benefit from slightly stiffer springs.

I've been offered some double yellow front springs, and some purple/brown rear springs, which are basically brand new.

However, from what I've managed to find, the rears seem to be for a 110 utility, not a CSW. Will these be too stiff?

As tottot has already said, just fit standard springs. Britpart springs are ok and not expensive. It's not worth putting different rated springs on just cos they're free. IMHO.

Standard rates and lengths will give the best results all round. Fitting heavy duty or extra length will always result in loss of performance in other areas.
