Spring length

Sorry cannot find the original thread that someone posted recently it was something like, new springs have been bought which ones are front and rear ect.

The springs are pretty much the same length it is the thickness of the coils that separates the two (4) with the thicker to the rear.

Other info is as follows:

Spring lengths as found on my 93 200 tdi uninstalled:

Rear springs standard 39 cm long
" " Craddock + 2" 42 cm long

Front spring standard Drivers side (N/S LHD)39.5 cm long
" " " Passengers side 39 cm long
" " Craddock + 2" both 42cm


hope this helps.............bloody hell did I really sit and measure those springs and store the data in a logical way? Better get down to Primark and purchase an anorak!

I'm changing mine at the moment and have gone for a 25mm lift, I have done the fronts and it looks a bit more than that to me
my old springs that came of the front were 395mm x 13.4mm
and the new ones I've fitted are 405mm x 16mm
the new rears measure 440mm x 17mm, the old rears are 16" or 410mm and 16.7mm springs.
