Guys appreciate this has been probably done to death however can someone provide an idiot proof diagram or explanation as to how to wire hella rallye 3000 spotlights through the main beam and which incorporate a sidelight / marker light.

Vehicle is a 2002 Land Rover 90 County

Thanks

hi
take it these are just lights to come on with the main beam. are there two or four of them. if two you will just need one relay. a perment live, a swich live, ground , live going to spots. hope this helps if not let me know and i will try and draw one and put it up.
and ground for spots.

I assume I need the sidelight and main light individually earthed , the live for both of these taken from the corresponding live to the high beam and sidelights providing the switching however where does the relay fit in with this.

The intention is to have the main light work off the high beam with the marker light to come on with the sidelight , I assume this is the way they are intended to work ??

Rallye 3000 is not an uncommon lamp was hoping someone had been through this before

You can earth the side and spot together, that's fine.
I'd go with the idea of taking the power for the spot via a relay so as to not put too much load on the existing wiring.

Earth the lamp/bulbs.

One terminal of the relay goes to the earth as well.

One terminal of the relay goes to a positive supply (either permanent from the battery (with fuse in line) or via a control relay already ion the vehicle (either accessory or ignition on relay), this way you control whether they should always come on with high beam or only with high beam if the accessories (or engine) is on.

One terminal goes to the existing wire to one of the high beam headlights.

The remaining terminal goes to the +12v side of the lamp/bulbs.

Haven't got a relay to hand to give you pin numbers, but the earth and existing high beam go to the actuation solenoid in the relay (symbol is a rectangle with a line coming out of one end.
The +12v supply (battery/ accessories supply/ engine supply) and the +12v to the lamps go to the pins that look like a fence with a gate in it when seen from above _/_ sort of symbol.

I'm sure it will be clearer once somebody posts a wiring diagram for you.

Hope This Helps

depends on the wattage of the bulbs. I have 120w PIAA's which will need 2 relays and seperate wiring system for each. If they are 55's you will be fine with 1. Ring do a kit with all the wires, relay switch etc. may be best to follow this approach if you dont have the bits to hand.

2 120w bulbs will draw 20amps so a single 30amp relay would be more than enough.
