Hi im thinking of fitting some spots to my flander1 (which is why i started the bullbar thread), can you peeps post some pics of what you've got fitted (with without bullbar) to help me decide on which to go for, what size, and placement, and any advice would be great but lets not get into whats legal and whats not legal, thanks..

:cool::cool::cool::cool:

1 i was looking at was if this would fit on the freelander bumper as it only bolts on...

does this set up not restrict the airflow to the rad/intercooler?

this was one of my worries with this setup, i was considering 2 small ones at the top of the lower grill inder the numb plate, any1 done this, what could it be restricting if i place them down there?

Also can you peeps that have posted pics (and thanks for doin so) pop the size (in inches) of the spots in the pics

cheers..

nope never had, ever noticed any problem with air flow or radiator. and ive done a few 000's mile like it too. front spots are disco safari 5000. roof ones safari 3000, 2x fog 2x driving spots.

well, they dont come on with any vehicle light switch or control.
they are seperatley switched, seperate power source (aux battery) and on an illuminated switch on the dash. Completly and utterly seperate from the vehicle electrics.

Id say it should be fine, the 2 MOT's i have had were fine.

Only illegal if i drove with them on, causing a problem for other roadusers, which i dont!! leave that for the chavs i.e. sidelights with fogs on duri ng the day.

Outer ones fog lights, inner ones spots,

Hi guys,

I've been slow to realise that most folks don't mean Spot Lamps when they say 'Spot Lamps' - they must mean Driving Lamps.

I gave up on Spot Lamps years ago as they don't give a wide enough beam for most situations - on or off-road.

I also see that Hella don't make 'Spot Lamps' any more - none on their web-site anyway.

I used to run a pair of Driving Lamps and a pair of Fog Lamps on my 2002 pre-facelift.

However the LR Fog Lamps on my 2004 facelift model are quite efficient in my experience of thick fog so don't need any additional fitments.

Now I just have my trusty pair of Hella Driving Lamps wired into the same circuit as the Headlamps - dead simple - no switches needed.

No problems with air-flow into the rad - even in Adriatic Summertime temperatures.

Cheers,

Singvogel.
