Hi all!

it’s been a while, a couple of years at least, but I had jumped ship and went for a bmw x6, but I couldn’t stay away for long.

I’ve brought myself a 2009 sport pre facelift with a wrecked interior.

so I’ve brought a 2012 interior. My thinking is the seats will go in, but unsure about the door cards, has anyone done this, was it straight forward or is there wiring issues etc??

Hi, no I have a 2009 sport, they changed the interior on a 2010 nicer seats and door cards. The Center also changed but I’m not touching that, just the door cards and seats

So, I’m assuming that no one has done this so I’ll give you an update incase anyone is thinking of doing it.
Firstly I’m about 80% through, front seats in, fully working,
Door card in, had to swap the window buttons for the original until I figure out the wiring. They don’t quite fit as the later are larger so leave a 5mm gap at the front. And the wiring clips are different.

so here’s what I’ve done,
After removing the drivers seat, the loom is different on the later model, so I had to use the original base and wiring and just swap the base and back. There’s just 4 bolts in each so quite straight forward.
Removed the seat unbolted the base from the frame, then removed the back and just swapped out for the new.
The loom just plugs straight in then.
Passenger seat plugged straight in but the buttons worked in reverse, so just cut the cables and swapped them over.
All 4 door cards just clipped straight in.

Hi , I have an 05 sport . I was thinking of getting the 2012 autobiography seats and doorcards and retrofitting them. Did you also install the back seats or just the front ones ? Sorry I know this thread is old ! :)

Know this is a old post but did you ever figure out the wiring to use the facelift window switches? I've got my facelift seats in but I'm about to start the cards and ideally want to use the facelift switches so it's a tidy finish

Hi Drew,

How did you get on with the window switches? Just done the swap myself and trying to figure out what direction I'm going to take. Thinking of doing something with my 3D printer...
