*spontaneous. Won't let me edit the title.

This evening, while tugging at the damp carpet in the driver's footwell, I was vaguely aware of a burning smell, but ignored it at first, figuring it was a neighbour's bonfire. Then it started to get smoky, but I still ignored it, figuring it was drifting over from next door into the disco. Then I looked up, and the entire disco was filled with acrid smoke bellering up from the boot, a merry little fire happily crackling away where the interior light had been immediately prior to this discovery.

the result would have been somewhat upsetting if I hadn't been immediately on hand to pull the molten charred remains of the light from the somewhat unscathed mdf (or whatever its made of) surround and extinguish the offending flames.

Spontaneous combustion of interior lumination happened to anyone else, or is this just another little landrover electrickery foible fail?

oh yes, I forgot to mention the LEDs
Interior leds were one of the first things I put in all round about 12 months ago. In fact leds are pretty much the first thing I do to any car I get, always makes such a difference. I guess there was a loose or frayed wire arcing or something as like.
