split charge system

Hi all,has anyone fitted a national lunar split charge system to there landy with a winch on it,in the instructions it says that you should use 35mm cable from both batteries to the solenoid but no fuse in either circuit,i personaly would like to put a fuse/reset fuse to stop the batteries getting cooked or is it not advisable to fit a fuse due to the high current demand when winching,any thoughts appreciated guys.

i would never ever run a winch without a shut off switch

you imagine getting yr fingers caught in the cable and not being able to cut off the power its gonna smart

Ill put a isolation switch in the winch circuit i.e from battery to isolation switch then from isolation switch to winch solenoid.

thats it.you should be ok..but im not familier with the lunar split charge
