Hello everyone. I'm building a Defender 300TDI which is mostly consisting of 2000 and 2001 parts. A lot of my parts are new including all the wiring harnesses purchased from my local Land Rover appointed dealership. I thought I had fitted all the necessary wiring, but now I am not so sure. I have a 'Spider' isolator fitted but I don't know what should plug into the socket that comes out of the spider casing on a short lead. The Spider unit inside the casing is a cylindrical sealed unit and looks nothing like the earlier square one pictured in the 300TDI workshop manual. The Land Rover dealer told me that it is an updated part but did not know what plugs into the socket coming out of it. This socket has 7 pins and I am unable to find any thing on the wiring diagrams that show what should plug into it. The vehicle will not start or even turn over.... there's just a weird sound from the Spider. Can anyone please help me by telling me what should plug into this socket ? Is it a link harness with it's other end connected somewhere else or is it a branch off of the main bulkhead harness ? Maybe it should join into the main fuse box on the bulkhead ?
