Speedometer Cluster Illumination

Evening Folks ,

2003 D2

After spending the whole day driving , I went to park the Disco up for the night & realised the Speedometer Cluster had no lights and no lights around the heater switches total darkness. Now the Speedo was working but no light.

Can anyone shed any light on what may be the issue . I was told to check Fuse 13 under the bonnet & Fuses 11 & 33 and they did not seem blown.

Hey I checked the fuses abs noticed Fuse 3 was a discoloured , replaced this and the Speedo illuminated , then after an hour of driving it blew , any idea ?

Old skool answer, but sounds like a short somewhere maybe due to water ingress.

When I mean discoloured I meant a bit burnt looking , no water in around fuse box area ??
