Hi ,
Tidying up my dash , including cleaning the gauges & glass , which seemed to held together by some sort of black dried out sealant . Got some replacement seals , however am not sure if the rounded glass seal goes directly in the grove on the gauge and then the glass goes on top & held directly by the bezzle , or does the glass sit directly on the gauge , with the seal on top & between it and the beezle . Tried searching for a "How to " , but no luck , any advise appreciated , just don't want to break yet another glass.

Hi,
Think I've got it sorted , managed to fit the temp/fuel gauge back together , fitting the seal above the glass , against the bezel , the fact that the seal supplied are slightly too small makes it interesting , as you have to prod the seal under & apply pressure to keep it under , whilst pushing the locking tabs down , you need three hands . I'm sure that's not the right way , but have managed it . Just waiting now for a replacement glass for the speedo , also worked out why it cracked , measured both the 4" gauges , and surprise surprise , they are not both identified , one being slightly smaller in diameter . hope the new glass fits !!!
Cheers

Phew! I'm sure there are a few peps glad you managed it. A very obscure post certainly taxed my tiny grey matter. TBH I didn't even know you can replace the glass faces. .

Glass arrived - perfect fit , have left the seal stretched around the body of the gauge , and next to the radiator , hope that will stretch it to the right size long enough for it to fit tonight
