Speedo Cluster Down

Hi all, Few weeks back the speedo, rev counter, temp gauge & basically everything on the pod packed in so I checked the fuses and yes one was blown so replaced it and it was fine for a few days and the pop it goes again, I have checked for chaffed wires or loose or disconnected earth wires but cant see anything, I decided to change the cluster with a second hand low mileage one and all was fine for another three days and then same again, prob is the fuse keeps blowing now & strangely the fuel gauge is now creeped up to max despite only having quarter tank, any ideas before I call in an auto elec.
