forgive me the double post but i thought it might get lost.
hey everyone... been having the same problem as others with the speakers going silent in my rr but i have one piece of information that might help someone out there know the answer to what is causing this. everything turns on and works. just no sound. if i try to adjust the system... i.e. bass treble etc. then i get all the options except for the last one. the one that lets me choose between spatial and driver. it just doesn't show up at all.. just goes back to the radio station scrolling across the screen. bass.. treble.. sub.. fade.. balance..(rough order) then should be spatial or driver as the last option but nothing.. and the few times that it has turned on the spatial and driver option IS there but if i try to adjust it then the speakers cut out again and the option disappears. hoping this will make sense to someone and they can tell me (and others with the same problem) what is up. really want to get this fixed as i have a road trip ahead and i miss my sounds. as always.. thank you very much ahead of time.

Sadly I think the amplifier is gone. Mine started with noise and now I have that same scenario all the time (no driver or spatial option and no audio from radio or Nav). Didn't have the time to test if the radio audio is getting to the AMP. I'll let you know as soon as I find out anything else.

Well today I finally took the time to verify the cables in the AMP and I could hear the radio in the AMP input. Verify if the 12V and it was there also, so the AMP is dead
The bad thing is that the cheapest price that I found was $300 US dollars for a new one.
I also open the AMP and there were no burn marks anywhere. I'll let you know what I did.

Just be careful if sourcing replacement amps from fleebay as it is a great dumping ground for dead amps (and original, useless RF receivers, come to think of it, and faulty window / sunroof switches!!). The later head units, namely the Alpines, no longer have available spares if they go faulty, unlike the Clarions, so again, difficult to source in good working order. Best bet is via a known reputable source (are there any such things?) or at tremendously high prices new from the dealers....if they have stock.

Found a great replacement for the amp. Blaupunkt PCA 465. It have an auxiliary input to put your NAV system using a headphone jack and you can decide if you want it in the front speakers or the rear. I used the front channels fro the mid-range speakers and the rear channels to power the bass speakers cause it has an integrated crossover and it sounds pretty good. You have to put a filter if you use the same +12V as the original cause the engine noise gets to the speakers.
