Spare wheel wont fit with tent - Double Cab

I've got a TD5 double cab pickup, and with the tent installed on the rear the spare wheel wont fit onto the carrier as the arm fixed to the rear bulkhead is too short.

Am I missing something or is there an extension, or a longer holding nut that I am supposed to have to fit it?

Just bought it so apologies if it is a stupid question

Have you tried the wheel the other way round? ie, with the fair side toward the bulkhead!

I stupidly assumed it would be pretty side facing outwards...
