Here's what i'm trying to make

I'm in the same boat but just put up with the loss of boot space - it's much less than ideal. That looks pretty good 996Turbo. It's hard to do it so it looks right on a P38.

Will it swing out the way and will it require a custom rear bumper?

Guy

Edit - oops just saw the first photo (viewing on my mobile so it's hard to see - that's my excuse anyway)

Don't know why someone cannot come up with a proper conversion instead of these after thought LPG tanks. Smaller petrol tank and larger LPG tanks mounted under the vehicle where they belong. To be honest the spare mounted on the bumper looks gross to me.

That's the Kaymar bumper no longer available

I don't want to loose my fuel tank capacity. I may go with a long range one of 150liters

Surely it would make more sense to have a smaller petrol tank and longer range LPG tank, mounted below the vehicle. Than a large petrol tank and small LPG tank with no room for the spare. Just depends how far you want to drive without refuel of course. But with fuel prices what they are here in the UK, it would be a lot better to have a larger tank for the cheaper fuel to me. A five gallon reserve of petrol will always get you to a filling station.

Don't you have E85 Ethanol in Uk? Here it's almost same price as LPG. Think about using the rangie in countries where there's not LPG ( Spain, Marocco...)

A can of tyre weld is the way to go if you ask me, i've had LPG fitted for over 4 years and have yet to need a spare wheel, I always carry two cans of expandable foam incase .... its the risk you run i guess.. You cant rear mount the spare surley !!! If your thinking of going away (Morroco) chuck a roof rack on and stick the spare in a roof box at least that way its not so unsightly

Of course, a roof rack is good but what will you do if you have to fit a roof tent there.

The problem I have with most of these aftermarket bits and pieces is that they all seem to require you to fit a hideous bumper.

Do they have to be quite so industrial looking?

I don't think the spare wheel carrier looks too bad, although it does appear to restrict rear visibility quite a bit.

I'm half tempted to bin the subwoofer enclosure and mount the spare vertically in there but that would require a bit of thought about the parcel shelf and you'd still lose boot space which isn't exactly enormous to begin with.

I have the same problem, Im thinking of keeping the spare wheel in the boot but making a false floor to sit on top of spare wheel covering the whole boot space.

Not that i know of. Anyway nothing is cheap in this shit hole, the government make sure of that.

Thanks for all the suggestions

Is it not the case that if you put gunge into your tyre, the garage will refuse to repair a puncture? On previous LPG Discos and Rangies, I found that the original petrol tank was required as very often travelling late at night up here in the sticks when petrol stations were closed not just the few lpg ones. Not a big difference in petrol/lpg price here

I am looking to mount the spare wheel on a removable swing away mount attached to the tow bar because where i go i need to carry two spare wheels as on most trips i usually destroy at least 1 tyre and they are hard to get or very expensive and to be quite honest i dont care what they look like as long as they do the job
