Hi guys, soon after buying my Hippo I had all four road wheels re-booted but had the best of the old tyres kept as the spare for financial reasons, I'm now toying with the idea of replacing that with one to match the new set, but I can't help thinking if this is a waste of time and money as the road wheels may be half worn when I next get a flat and even though they'll be the same make they'll clearly be a different size due to wear, what do you guys think?, yes before you say it I do realise that I would need to get a new set of two minimum at the earliest chance and fit to the rear preferably.
Cheers.

I too had just 4 new tyres fitted and the spare is a 14 year old original Michelin 4X4 with 8mm of tread if that answers your question :)

I also rotate tyres front to back when needed to keep them the same tread depth ;)

You should ideally rotate all wheels including the spare every 20,000 revolutions 8) this will ensure even wear on all tyres and will solve your dilemma in future!

Ermm ok let's work that out then.....
As I do less than 3000 miles a year I'll just keep an eye on tread depths and if I get a puncture get the tyres sorted ASAP after.
Thanks for helpful replies guys

this has been covered before, so its not my idea.
you get a flat. put the spare on. get the flat fixed, swap it back.
cannot be fixed, get a new tyre and swap it with the wheel on the other side to the one that had the flat.
that's if it was on the back that is. if it was on the front. well that just a lot more swapping around.
I think/hope you get the idea

Just in case anyone was in doubt I was just kidding about the number of revolutions!
