If anyone wants any advise, guidance or views, let me know & I'll send over fitting instructions etc as the ones supplied could do with elaborating & some extra tinkering needs to be done.
A pukka snorkel at a sensible price!

It was £200, which i thought was good.A mantec one which goes in the wing is nearly 300 & i dont personally like safari ones that go outside the wing.
It took from early morning to mid afternoon & i took my time to get it right.
If you dont have an air nibbler or arent confident cutting your bodywork get a bodyshop to do it-it took my mate 15 mins to cut the hole-i think id have been there a lot longer!

I have 300Tdi so guessing the airbox might be different, but really about making the holes in the wings and removing the outer wing.

I was hoping to keep the space infront of the airbox as I want to put a senond battery in there in the future

Cheers
Hi mate
sorry didnt reply sooner, been away.
The hardest is getting the template in the right place & actually cutting it, i got a friend who does bodywork to do mine with an air saw.
Put the template on , theres pretty much only one place it can go when you line up the wing/door spacings with it.
Id recommend cutting it with the wing still on the car to prevent damaging any corners etc.
Then take the wing off & make the connections in to the air box in the inner wing.
I dont know if a 300 wing comes off the same as a td5, but mine was about 6 bolts along the bonnet edge, 2 in the door shut, 1 by the bottom of the arch by the door & 1 by the headlight.I had to remove the black shield that sits inside the wheel arch.
When reassembling, thread the indicator loom & snorkel hose through BEFORE you bolt the wing back on-i messed up & had to take it off again!
I used black sealant on the snorkel connections & round the lid of my air box to get it watertight.
I also riveted my "A" pillar bracket on rather than using the self tappers supplied-much stronger & the heads of the screws stood so proud, they fouled my door so i couldnt shut it!
I also ran my extended axle/gearbox breathers up along the snorkel, through a gap between the windscreen trim & the outer wing up the the intake at the top & cable tied them on with silver ties to match the snorkel.
When fitting you may think that the whole thing looks like its just going to flap about, but once you connect the snorkel to the pillar bracket & push the black wing fitting in the wing hole properly with the snorkel running through it its very snug.
I put some sealer inside the wing trim where it meets the bodywork as I had a 2mm gap. If this happens, once fully fitted you can push firmly but gently doen on the assembly so it sits on the wing better.
Thats about it, if you get stuck, mail me!
let me have some finished pics!
cheers

Hi Mark
the snorkel is supplied with screws but the heads are very large which gave me the problem so I drilled 2 4mm wide, 15mm deep holes in the door pillar & used rivets so that there was nothing to affect the door shutting

i have the wing moulding i brought on its own as i didn need the stainless pipe that come with it but woundering how the wing moulding attaches to the flexi hose inside the wing? thanks

Hi there, would you by any chance still have the fitting instructions and template for the TD5 Disco Southdown Snorkel? I bought one several months ago but when I decided to fit it today, i've discovered that they are missing! I would normally blame the wife but as she doesn't know i've already bought it, I doubt it's actually her! Any help would be appreciated:):):)

made one myself bought all the bits off ebay separately went for ally tube instead done it for just under £100 and a hole profile come with the wing moulding looks just the same as a £2-300 pound one
