Sourcing an ExMOD 90 w Modifications

Hi All, new here to this great forum. I am hoping you may provide me some guidance. I'm looking for a source/builder for a 1985 or earlier 90. ex-Mod seems to be the way to go for LHD given their maintenance schedules in military use. I've seen a few people who specialize in ex-Mod vehicles, but was wondering, if I wanted things done before pick up (respray/v8 swap are the major items), where would you suggest I go? Location is not terribly important as I will be managing the build remotely. Yes, it will be for export to the States. I appreciate a little patience as I am not completely up to speed as with the UK brethren here.


If anyone can recommend a shop that has access to an inventory of ex-Mod 90s and is experienced with swaps among other things, then please let me know.

FYI: The V8 swap is desired as here in the US, diesels seem to be an afterthought in all things, getting petrol and service. Also, the normally aspirated diesel doesn't seem like the strongest runner (I could be wrong). Some towing will be involved.

Take out a subscription to Land Rover Owner magazine (other similar magazines are available) and read through the adverts.

Thank you for the reply. I'm in the US, we generally don't have any LR magazines, but I have seen digital versions of some online. I have looked through the back of them at the adverts. I have not seen any ads specific to my needs.

Thank you Sir! I've been searching, a ton of good information, but nothing as specific as I'm requesting. I'll keep looking though!
