I have read dozens of post about suspension and still no wiser so asking for advice at the end of my road there are roadworks and they have a cable across the road in a rubber shroud when I drive over this in my p38 it is a bone shaking jar now is this down to the shocks or to the bushes being hard - car drives great no pulling or shudders on potholes so help and guidance please

Could be a few things, driving too fast over it. Shockers seized. After market super shocks too hard. Suspension set at wrong height in standard mode. Daft poly bushes. Tyre pressures too high. Big wheels low profile tyres. Etc Etc Etc.
