Fleet,welding up a disco
I know it's probably been done to death!

I know the disco r380 and 300tdi will fit in a 90 (originally a td) and Ashcroft do the parts to mod the box to fit the 90 gear leavers and keep them in the original place/looking oe!
I'll need to weld in the 300 engine mounts shorten the bottom rad mounts and weld in pins for the top!
So what I'm not totally sure on is what gearbox mounts to use?
do I swap the disco x member with mounts or use the 90 one or a mix or what? Want everything in place so I can get on with it and try and crack it out in a long weekend

I can weld and fab stuff up but that's extra time! Want to get it swapped over before Newbury spares day at the end of the month as then I can sell off all the parts I no longer need!

Talking of selling parts off realistically what's a lt77 and 19j worth? Done 127k but been sitting for 2 years!

Sorry

Yep that's the plan!
Use the top housing from the lt77 on the r380, transfer box will stay in the same place fit g/box and leave it in?
drop engine in tack rad and engine mounts, remove weld up mounts and refit job done then just plumb it up

Well that's the idea! Reckon the exhaust will clear the x member by the box?not that's a massive issue just thinking I can mod it if need be before I fit it up

I've got a complete disco I've had for 8 years ive been using as my weekend off roader

if you fit every thing as std exhaust will fit perfectly over the cross member you just need to weld some mounts to hold center box and rear pipe

Well it’s in and running,
Just some plumbing to sort,
Fit props,
Fit the Ashcroft adaptor in the gearbox,
Fit exhaust
Then I can give it a run! And see what falls off
It almost looks like a proper Land Rover again!

Thankfully Newbury spares day is only next week so can get most of the shiny bits with any luck!
