Sorry Air Suspension

Ive just changed air bags and height sensors today as i had a failed height sensors which appeared to have caused the air bag to fail -Having replaced both bags and sensors today i am making very small bubbles at the top on one Dunlop bag (having not yet road tested) i'm wodering if this may stop by its self as i did give the pipe a good push in and a waggle as instructions. The bags have inflated to a good shape and all else looks well.

To clarify, the bubbles are visible at the join between the pipe and the union. Not the rubber sides of the bag itself?

yes making small bubbles at the connection (after dousing with washing up liquid and water) nothing was evident at the test when the bag had taken shape but started once pressure has risen as vehicle is now taking its own weight

I do not know how the pipe plugs in to the connection - is it just squared-off at the end? I would make sure the end of the pipe and the connector are very clean. according to RAVE the pipe screws into the airbag - again make sure the threads are clean and the connection is tight enough.

its a push fit on the dunlop without a nut but i'll keep an eye on it cheers

If it's a push fit then there may be the option of just cutting a fresh end on the pipe for a clean start. However, hopefully someone who actually has done this operation may confirm this (or not??)

normally you dont have to cut the pipe if it was in the original screwed in type of fitting, just remove the 'olive', but if it was cut the cut must be perfect or it will slowly leak... you'll not notice it if the leak is very weak and you use the car every day as it will re-level all the time but this may ruin the compressor... do something to not have any leaks at all , or refit the pipe in the push-fit connector more carefully or use some sealant otherwise you risk to loose the compressor in time

thanks i will check it tomorrow i was expecting it to require re-levelling but it seems to sit level side to side

i've now established that i am getting small bubbles from the bag side of the brass fitting ie not from the air pipe side.

Sounds like a faulty bag then. Is it only one side that's leaking?

just one side but i do'nt know if the fit of the pipe will allow a leak from the bag side of the brass fitting or if this is a fault of the bag
