somethings up

Hi, i've tried searching but can get an exact answer so i thought you lot might help.

My td4 isnt running well at all, when driving i can feel it splurting/gagging for fuel,no power, like either somethings in the fuel or injectors dirty or something else.

I did the egr thing 6 months back together with the oil seperator thing, it's had a service around the same time, however the garage did mention the fuel pump is on the way out, could this be the cause. I have tried diesel additive but to no use.

Any ideas am i missing something?

You don't say what year or what mileage but only a very few fuel pumps reach 100K - or so I'm told.

Renew the filter at the same time.

Hi, thanks for that, it's a 03 model with 100k. so a new pump and filter, what sort of money are we talking ?

Change the fuel filter first , see if that sorts it

I'm assuming this is the under the wheel arch type pump and filter.

Genuine LR pump is £135

Filter - approx £10 from EurocarParts.

Dirty awkward job - read up about it well before tackling it.
