Someones door hit mine

Parked in car park well away from anyone else. Came back two hours later and found paint taken off about 1"x 1/4" on centre of passenger door. My paint removed was still as dust arount the damage. Of course the offending car door (and car) had disappeared. Didn't really need to make the journey which makes it worse. Does anyone know if these mobile paint vans are any good or will it have to go to a paint shop to have the whole door done. Its metallic paint.

Someone did this to me the other day, I was sat in the landy and as he got his fat arse out of is Volvo he hit me 3 times!

I dnt think he realised I had rock sliders Untill he looked down at his door to see the large dent and missing paint.

I couldnt even tell my sliders had been hit

Ps ive heard good things about the mobile Dent and Chip People.
Not sure about metallic paint though give em a call you got nothing to loose...

Yup they are either guna hit the rock slider or my 33" Tyres.

So i dnt really care where i park

Ditto rock sliders solve the prob

Used chips away on my last motor for a few car park muppet scratches and they were brilliant - highly recommended!

It's my wife's 6 year old RR. I drive Defenders which have rocksliders and lots of scratches and bumps so no problem there.

my experience is cosmetic repair only okay on small scratches- you can always see large areas.
Has it gone right through or is it like a white mark? reason I ask is some of the modern lacquers seem to do this and can with great care be fixed with tcut and a pea of farcella g3- must be kept wet and worked evenly.

Fanatic - its taken a layer off - you can see the edges - it left paint dust around the damage - its giverney green and the damaged area is a lighter greeny/whitish colour - its metallic also unfortunately which I would never have if there was a choice.

I used to be a valeter at a LR main-dealer when I was a lot younger, and they had one of these guys come in regular to touch-up cars.

He even used to do the Ferarri's and stuff that they had about. If it's good enough for them...

its people like that who made me get a 110 in the first place, i used to always park at the opposite end of any car park and still find some old rot box parked next to me, now i dont care as i wouldnt notice any damage to mine!

Some mobile paint guys are brilliant. It does vary a bit, but the saving compared to a bony shop can be huge

why have you found one.

There's one that came to the garages in Nottingham but unfortunately he only does trade work he's that busy he doesn't bother with private customers just reckons trade stuff is easier as he often gets two or three at a time at the larger places. But even on metalics the results were amazing.

Folk round these parts (Aberdeenshire/Moray) hate 4x4's (probably 'cause they don't have one!) and i regularly find door level 'Dings' in my series 3 - used to get them in my defender too. I've had folk even attempt to box me in and even upfront verbal abuse. It used to bother me - now i just don't give a F$@K!
