Sold defender, got another disco 2 td5 gs. yeah baby!!

well my trusty old 300tdi 90 has gone, after spending hundreds of hours repairing it and restoring it. it was our only vehicle and my mrs was using it everyday. was only getting around 20mpg and she was complaining about getting kids in and out, so i swapped it for a mint 2000 td5 gs full service history. 120k. and im over the moon with it. miss mi old girl but this is luxury!!

If you were only getting 20mpg then you did something wrong during those hundreds of hours

big tyres, short journeys, aero dynamic as a brick, egr valve was removed by previous owner. didnt touch the engine whilst i was repairing/restoring it apart from the cambelt was done by RD landrovers.

Anyway i put 50quid in disco and took my mrs to work and drove back which is 36mile round trip. did same again today and the guage has hardly moved if any. if that was in my 90 then i wud have used a **** load of fuel. Everybodys happy
