My landy just seems so sluggish. It's been serviced but i am thinking of removing the Cat. Does it really make that much of a difference?
It's probably full of crap anyway.

Was the sediment filter down by the fuel tank changed?

Are the fuel lines in good nick? The metal ones on top of the tank can/do rust and develop pin holes that let air in.
.

I have just binned the CAT and there is a huge difference in performance. The fuel lines are good but i can't speak for the sediment filter.

But the CAT disposal really did make a difference.

Our 300Tdi's lack of power was caused by the rear sediment bowl full of gunge. Cleaned that up and it was like driving a different car.

What's the condition of your intercooler like? Are a lot of the vanes bent and damaged? Is the intercooler full of silt? What about the condition of the turbo hoses?

Does the vehicle use much oil? Is it possable that the cam is badly worn?

What about your inlet manifold? When I took mine off it was full of crud, proberly restricted by about 20%. Also is the manifold gasket on it's way out?
