Snow & road tyres

whats the best way to drive in snow on the road high or low (we live on a narrow road with cars both sides).

Best to drive with your hands on the wheel. If you don't you will probably crash.

I find a slow 360' spin with all wheels locked useful especially downhill

If you need to ask should you be driving at all.

Low range will give you more torque. More torque on slippery road surfaces will be more likely to cause wheel spin. Wheel spin is the result of loss of traction which may result in loss of control. (especially on snow & ice) In general you won't want to use low range in snow or ice conditions.
