Lovely Shropshire...
Hi all, merry christmas.

May i suggest that if you guy's have any spare time over the winter when snow is on the ground and you would like to play in the snow that you phone the local meals on wheels and offer them the service of your landrovers as my local WRVS has struggled to get meals out to people who rely on the service......they pay for your fuel, you get to help and you get to play in the snow.

I got to drive all over the cotswolds essentially for free and it doth help when the anti's have a pop too!

While i'm here how do you guy's rate the standard of drivers in the snow so far?

Cheers Nick.

well round here (N Yorks) it has been crap if there was snow about they all slow down to 5mph and thats when the snow is only on the paths not the road :) lol

I gave up driving on the main roads and used all the back lanes.....people seem intent on driving too close, too fast and trying to drive like they usually do resulting in a number of people sailing across junctions in front of me with abs frantically trying to stop the car whilst others were trying to access roads that were too steep and covered in sheet-ice on top of the determined bunch who refuse to admit defeat in the face of absolutely no grip, way too much right foot and finally not to mention the pedestrians that would step into the road as the pavement's were a bit dicey.......probably less dangerous than trying to stop any vehicle with a stern look...(i would have thought anyway).

Still my favourite is the mobile snow platforms that peeps love to drive around in, complete with covered lights, front and rear and a porthole to see them safely home!

Roll on the next chunk of snow....

I helped meals on wheels a couple of times in the recent snow after they ditched one of their vans and then got another stuck in the snow the following day. Both were successfully extracted and soon back on their way.;)
