currently have a mantec mushroom top snorkel on me 200 tdi.i had a plate welded to the base plate with a circular flange welded to that so i could take the pipe direct from the air filter to the snorkel without relying on the plastic flange that sits inside the inner wing.i have been given a safari snorkel which i want to fit but as its all plastic and it relys on that plastic inner shaped piece i cant see how im goona fit it

do all defender safari snorkels rely on the plastic inner piece or are there different fitting pieces available.

i dont want to reinstall that plastic inner piece,it was a bastid to get out let alone get back in again:doh:

Not sure how the 200tdi differs, but my safari snorkel has all plastic pieces.

The hose from the air filter fitted directly onto the snorkel. There was a couple of rubber seals where it passes through the wing, but that was it.

What are you guys using to waterproof your joints. I was told to avoid silicon sealents as with movement the seal breaks free from the plastic. Just like when you rub it to clean it off. Was told to get calking or something that doesn't set firm.

use RTV silicone or panel sealant. or if using drainpipe use solvent weld adhesive.
