Snorkel

Just spotted this on ebay, Snorkel Fits Land Rover - Range Rover P 38 - 2,5 - 2,5 TD with adapter | eBay not the most elegant solution but they've at least had a go. Has anyone tried one and what's their opinion of it in terms of fit, ease of fitting and is it up to the job?

I'd be more worried about the BECM under the driver's seat.

the ebay ones are hideous mate done bother with them if you must have a snorkel get a defender one it has a flexi pipe so you can get the correct window angle but there is always the worry about becm if you don't move it

That's like the one we fit to ours.
There are no fitting instructions with it, they don't speak any English.
I fit ours after lots of marking up and test fitting / holding in place etc.
Suffice to say it held out on our recent trip through the Moroccon desert and is still working a treat now.
There is some fiddly work cutting the hole to mate up with the air filter box, but it's doable.

I love the picture of it being held in place with tape and a broom handle! I guess that is the fitting instructions.

Maximum wade height is stated in handbook. Fitting a snorkel and going over the max recommended is fraught with danger. You had better make sure your door seals are in very good order or you are heading for a world of pain.

About as much use as tits on a Mars bar - P38s and water do not mix. Brilliant off road cars but they don't do wet.

BECM and water don't mix. if you need a snorkel for wading, then get a different vehicle - if its for dust - then its a slightly different argument.
