Hi all
Looking to change my very smoky automatic td4 2006 engine to a new one .
Questions are will a manual engine from a td4 fit ?
And any specific points or challenges on the engine ,box changeovers?
Cheers

It should do, the engines are the same core unit.

Surely it's better to work out why it's smoking though. It's unusual for an M47 to wear out enough to produce oil smoke, especially as turbo engines seldom draw oil from the sump via the pistons.

Yes I know but have tried everything
3 turbos, all pies and filters and boost solenoid changed everything

Hi
All 4 changed and tested, new copper washers and a good spray pattern, all common rail ok and new fuel.pressure sensor too

Have you run a full diagnostic on it, including analysing live sensor data?

I seriously doubt changing the engine will help, as the symptoms you have aren't common engine wear symptoms.

Thats very true.
Re the injectors i have changed them all over and it is still same issue
Can't keep buying new injectors though
What else could I try you think?
And your advice is very much appreciated

First you need to run a full live data diagnostic, so you can see what the various sensors are registering.

Out of interest, have you checked the EGR valve for sticking, and made sure the boost pipes are perfect?
