Another fun day in land rover ownership.

Did a weekend camping at Overland 4x4 show...

No major issues only 60 miles up the road so no biggy..

Pottered round in it to the petrol station and the shops... Nipped 2 miles into town and pulled back up on the drive... Opened the gate and noticed smoke coming from under the bonnet quickly reversed on the drive banged the engine off got the bonnet open...

Could hear bubbling and 'cooking'... Got the engine cover off and was met with this 🙄🙄🙄

Blimey , is that the front water assembly , sorry as can’t remember the name of it , seems quite a common issue

Plus hope u don’t mind me adding but see you’ve blanked off ur egr and heard that it can be a mot failure if they see that the pipes are missing

When I done mine I blanked them down by the engine block , then left the pipes on so then the mot examiner can’t tell , mines been through a few tests without issues , of course not trying to teach u how to suck eggs but wished to just mention it

What year is ur D3 plse, thks

Plus wonder if this is the part that I’m thinking of, if so see they do metal ones as well

That's for the EGR tip I bought it like this so fingers crossed it passes.

It's a 2005 👍. Yea looks like the thermostat housing to me aswell so I've ordered the aluminium version in hopes it's stronger and more durable.. Just hoping it hasn't done any proper damage.

Truth be told I've had non-stop issues with it... Suspension is driving me bonkers had all new valves the compressor works but still doesn't lift.. thinking maybe it's electrical not opening the valves 🙄. May just coil it and be done with it.
