Smoke

Done the head gasket.. Finally.. But now the hippo is still smoking..it smells like exhaust fumes.. Its white.. Could it be just the left over coolant in the exhaust.. Took it for a spin after h/g done.. Runs spot on. Not using coolant. Tick over is smooth like before. Just the smoke is worrying

An amount of smoke you are getting from the exhaust could be down to coolant in the exhaust, left over from when the HG failed.

The K series is also very good at producing water vapour (steam) from the exhaust, especially when the air is cold and damp. This steam is completely normal and mustn't be confused with a fault.

Just monitor the coolant and the way the engine runs. If it's running well and not loosing coolant, then just monitor it from now on.

Lets hope the smoke/steam clears through and your coolant stays where its supposed to

I'm over the moon that I manage heart surgery on a hippo haha. I let the gf use it tonight, in case it packs up, she local. Rang me earlier saying engine smoking then car wouldn't start.. Think it's a dodgy ht lead.. Gonna have a look later when I finish work
