Smashed Pano Sun Roof

Help!
So my sunroof has been smashed on my 09 freelander 2!
The insurance will not do it as they have suggested to write it off! (Not going to happen! I love my Landy)
Does anyone have any ideas for replacement? Not the standard £1000+ like glass panels or anything?

The problem with the glass roof panel, is it's bonded to the body.
There are repair instructions in the official LR2 manual.
If it were mine, I'd get a new replacement from LR, and have it professionally fitted.
It's no more difficult to install than a bonded windscreen, so most windscreen fitters should be able to handle the repair ok.

I suspect it's also possible to use a second hand replacement, but getting the glass off a metal frame could be fatal to the glass panel, which is obviously the bit you need.


Oh, and the insurance technically can't write off your car, just because of the cost of replacement. It's your car, and you do have a say in any outcome, especially as replacing the glass isn't going to be as much as the vehicle's value.
