Hi all,
Cars been a bit slugish! The last few days!
Getting up to speed is taking a little longer than usual!( TD5 auto)! I don't start engine until warmed up! Have about 5 mins before pulling away!
Do engine checks once a week!
Any advice??

Hi. How's that? If you dont start the engine how it gets warmed up? do you have a programmable FBH? If you meant you start it but dont drive it 5 minutes untill it's warmed up don't waste your fuel for nothing cos if it's sluggish due to the autobox that one won't warm up at idle, nor the engine too much, hence LR's recommendations mentioned in the WSM which must be both respected:
1. DO NOT warm-up the engine by allowing it to idle at a slow speed.
In the interests of fuel economy, it is advisable to drive the vehicle straight away,
remembering that harsh acceleration and labouring the engine before the normal
operating temperature has been reached can damage the engine.
2. The engine should be allowed to idle for 15 seconds following engine start up and before the engine is switched off
to protect the turbocharger by maintaining oil supply to the turbine bearings.

So first of all you should figure aout where the sluggishness is coming from, the engine or autobox cos there can be many reasons

That's what I meant to have said! But first thing in the morning! Was waking up myself! o_O
Just checked the air filter! Will be ordering one later  as it was in a bit of a sorry state!! So I have cleaned that up as much as I can to do for the next couple of days or however long it takes to be delivered!

Then will see if problem continues!!

Thanks for the advice :D

I had this till I cleaned the MAP sensor. After that, what a difference!
If that don't work, then check ATF level in the autobox.
Best of luck.:):):)

Thanks for the advise guys:D

I'm not in a position to do any checking as yet, away from home! But I will be looking for a new Air filter when back! Hopefully when parked up! I will have a look and see on other options if needed?
Once again! Thanks for the advice

Kev

As above, try with the MAF unplugged - if it's back to normal then time for a new MAF. Could also be the wastegate modulator if there's no boost......
