so i've read ..
but have read conflicting accounts as well ..
someone also rekoned the shell v-power 'ingredient-mix' changed at some point .. for the worse ( bhp wise ) ..

I think there maybe something to this.

SWMBO has an Audi TT which has been fine on regular diesel (Esso). A Shell garage opened up nearby a week or so ago so I filled the Audi with V-Power and I noticed a drop in MPG. Same happened with the Freelander too. Back to normal consumption with regular fuel.

this morn was 5c (coolant temp.) @ startup ..
took even more cranking to fire up ..
no smoke .. or any other indication of glow plug malfunction ..

drove the same route as yesterday .. no windy conditions ..
Litres Per Hour reading was still a tad more overall
( wish the unit had an 'average' readout for that )
occured to me the power/response diff. be like the diff. between medium and high settings on the ronbox ..

at destination .. put in 20 litres of 'jet' regular .. .. took the pooch for an hours walk
go-pedal response felt better on the way home :)

rekon i'll stick with 'jet' fuels from now on

~~~~~~~
i've a feeling that to take advantage of the 'premium' diesel fuels
an injection timing re-map might be in order ..
don't know for sure .. just a theory ..
