Hi
I hope you chaps can help. I have got stuck with an SLS fault with my Disco IIa. After I replaced a broken sensor and tried to re-calibrate, I have ended up with two SLS warning lights on the dash. The Off-Road Mode Warning Lamp and the SLS Warning Lamp. Using the Hawkeye ver7, I see no faults recorded.
I have asked Hawkeye support if they know of any faults that their tool does not read but they just referred me to ask on the forums.
Thanks
Andy

Hi, few questions:
1. did yo manage to calibrate the heights?
2. did you drive it since ?
3. the SLS is working normally just that you have those warnings on ?

Hi Sierrafery
Thanks for replying.

1) Not to start with. The first 3 or 4 tries to calibrate, it looked like it worked but when I disconnected the Hawkeye it just let all the air out and sat on the bump stops. I gave up and tried again a few days later with a Texas which did much the same. But the next day it did calibrate with the Hawkeye but that is when the two warning lights came on. Since then I have swapped the NS sensor (I bought two new sensors just in case) and now it will not calibrate properly. It will go up but will not drop ether side below the normal level. Then when I disconnect the Hawkeye it drops on to the bump stops.

2) I have only driven it a few 100 yards when I got it calibrated with the warning lights on. But not since it swapped the NS sensor. It needs an MOT and I am told it will not pass with the warning lights on.

3) As in 1) once it was calibrated, it was at the correct level but with the warning lights on and the Off Road button did not work.

It has got quite complicated!

Thanks
Andy

did yo follow the instructions on the screen untill the end? do you have calibration blocks or used jacks?... if you did everything well and it's still misbehaving then i'm affraid the ECU is fubar so inflate the bags from hawkeye commands if you can as to be on even level then set it to coils... this way if no leaks are present it will stay on that level for many days and the warnings should be out untill you replace the ECU

Hi Sierrafery
I was beginning to think it was the ECU when I wrote the reply to you. Too many odd things happening and no errors logged but the warning lights on.
I used two wooden blocks that I borrowed from a chap (He has the Texa diag kit) who as done a few airbags in the past and did follow the commands until the end.
Is the ECU the same as the engine management? If it is, could it have engine oil in it causing this issue? I had to replace injector wiring a few years back.
The tip to inflate and then switch to springs will be handy. I found even if you keep the Hawkeye connected while you drive, the airbags still deflate after about 90 seconds.
Anyway, you have been really helpful. I was proper stuck on this one.
Thanks
Andy
