hi guys, i am just trying to help a friend out here.

The problem is on an 'M' reg land rover discovery which is a V8i.

He started it up the other day and turned on dipped beam then it cut out and would not restart, not getting any ignition lights and nothing works on the ignition like electric windows etc. Although there is still power to the sidelights and other things that work separate of the ignition.

I went to check the fuses, i could only find one fuse box below and right of the steering wheel, is this the only fuse box on the disco?

Does anyone know of any problem which could cause this? I thought it may be the ignition barrel or something or maybe a fuse in the fusebox i couldnt find?

Thanks for your time

Adam

do you know where abouts under the bonnet?, i looked in the front right (Looking under the bonnet) and theres a bottle jack there, front left is the battery

if its an M reg it may not have a fuse "box" in the engine bay - there are "fusible links" wired in to the loom just in front of the brake servo - you will recognise where they are, because the links are covered in a fibreglass type shroud. They are NOT your usual type of fuse.

if anyone has a better copy of this - please can I have a copy.
