Hi,

After many months of the mechanism on the sliding roof making a racket - the roof has jammed on the half open position and won't budge.

Can anyone please give a clue as to what might make it shift, or how complicated is it to remove so can try to service it.

Better still if a replacement is best, is there a reasonably priced place in the Northwest known to anyone?

Many thanks

so it was making a racket for long enough and you waited for it to break before doing anything about!

there's a search button above, use it

Now all the fecking experts are going to tell him anyway

its most probly broken the plastic moulding where the cable end locates,

first you have to remove the glass, 4 x small screws hold it in place ,
this will then give you access to the operating sliders, usually one of then will be defective in some way , making the roof jamb,
take the slider apart to see what the problem is, mine had broken the plastic moulding which retains the cable end,
i manufactured a new cable end bracket out of a piece of thin aluminium, been working great since , its a fiddly job setting it up,

if all else fails and you dont want to spend much you could remove the sliders and silicone the glass back in place
