Hi could anyone tell me if you have to programme slabs unit into disco 2 if so can it be done with a nanocom .cos I've not cured my faults yet I've done live test with it and my wheel speeds at both front wheels stay at 1.7 kph while rear wheels go up and down as they should .I then tried nanocom on my mates disco his wheel speeds went up for all 4 wheels as we set off .So my mate said swap slabs units over and see if it makes any difference or would that not be possible .cheers Allan

It can be done with nanocom if needed but if both vehicles have the same suspension(coil or air) no programming is necessary just plug and play...disconnect battery before the swap

Sh@t 1 coil and 1 air can I just swap them over just to check wheel speeds to see if my slabs is shot then swap back cheers Allan

put the one set on coils on the one with air and try so, cos if you put the one set for air on the one with coils you might loose height sensors calibration.,..always disconnect the battery before the swap, never disconnect/reconnect a SLABS ECU with battery connected

I've got a spare SLABS ECU if you find you need one. Long story, (yet another stealership con) it was taken off my D2 yr 2000 and, as far as I am aware, it is in perfect working order. Eventually, I found a brilliant mechanic who discovered the con, (a new one had been 'piggy-backed on to my original, totally unnecessarily), so he removed it, hence I have a spare.

Hi been looking on bay of flees they got 3 on there 2 different part numbers 1 ending in 70 the other ending in 150 does it make any difference which one , is 1 better than the other or just stick e with same part number as mine .Also if I need it how much do you want for the spare one you have just in case cheers Allan

I can only say what I was told as I am clueless and rely on my mechanic completely - it breaks, he fixes it and I pay!!!! As I understand it, there was an upgrade from the original and that is the spare one I have. If you want it I will need to sort it out from my ''junk room' and get back to you with the number. I am not interested in payment as I regard it as 'unwanted clutter' in my junk room ( Craft Room). If you are prepared to pay the postage ( won't be much ) then that is all that is required.
.
Can't believe I've just been able to put my hand on it straight away. :) There are so many numbers on it all I need to do is sort out which is the part number! - I told you I was clueless:rolleyes:.
Got it! I think. How does this sound - SRD 500070
Let me know if you want it.

Hi mate I will have that slabs off you let me know postage and how you want paying (PayPal or what ever ) cheers
Right been doing some more investigating had nanocom plugged in no voltage from o/s/r sensor other 3 wheels 2.21 volts so unplugged sensor then voltage dropped on n/s/f sensor pluged it back in unplugged n/s/f sensor no voltage reading o/s/r plugged it back in still no voltage o/s/r unplugged n/s/r no voltage at n/s/r plugged back in then unplugged o/s/f no voltage plugged back in .So when all connected back up 2.21 volts from 3 wheels 0.0 volts from o/s/r .Then we tried my mates laptop unplugging and plugging back in his shows same voltage but n/s/f wheel no volts but unplugging o/s/r shows correct wheel being unplugged then we road tested it rear wheel speeds went up and down as they should both front wheels stayed at 1.7 which is what happened on my nanocom the night before (pulling my phoo king hair out ) my nanocom reads as though n/s/f and o/s/r sensors are wired wrong but my mates laptop doesn't but both record the same live recordings of wheel speeds HELP cheers Allan

That's fine. I can't do anything about it now until Jan 3rd. I will send you a PM as soon as I know what the postage will be. I'm sure Hermes will be the cheapest but perhaps Royal Mail tracked might be a better bet. I'm sure it won't be more than a fiver.

I've now changed the slabs unit ( THANK YOU ) to Derwendolly

But no difference still got no wheel speed readings from front wheels
Rear wheel speed sensors are recording as they should

When i go into sns (v)
left rear wheel 2.21v when i unplug sensor 0.00v plug it back in 2.21v
right front wheel 2.21v when unpluged sensor 0.00vplug it back in 2.21v

now my problem starts
front left wheel 2.21v unplug sensor still 2.21v
right rear wheel 0.00v unpluged sensor sensor went to 0.00v pluged rear sensor back in left front went back to 2.21v
its as though left front /and right rear are crossed wired
but we also tried my mates laptop diagnostics in
left front 2.21v unplug left front sensor and it goes down to 0.00v
right rear sensor 0.00v unpluged it still 0.00v pluged it back in still 0.00v
so his reads it as it sould
then we take it for a spin
still no reading from both front speed sensors
rear speed sensors ok

anyone got any ideas where to go next
how do i do resistance checks what wires run where ?
do i have to jack wheel up and rotate wheel while checking
Please explain as though you i'm a complete numpty when it comes to electronic's

thank you Allan
this all started with 3 amigos
left rear hub and sensor changed
didn't make any difference
then right front showed up fault so put the hub that i took off the left rear onto the right front that cured my 3 amigos but then traction control started kicking in and applying brakes and the left front wheel was getting red hot so i put a new hub and sensor on then 3 amigos came back on thats when i bought nanocom cleared faults but they wont clear thats when it showed up no voltage from right rear wheel i've bought a new hub and sensor for that wheel but not fitted yet
But thats whats throwing me as the right rear and left front seem to be cross wired on nanocom but not on my mates laptop and they both show no speed from both front wheels but both rear wheels record speed i'm confused cheers Allan

you completely mixed up my mind with so much n/s, o/s things... tell me in clear description like the connector pinout is with R(right) and L(left) where the problem is and i'll tell you what to do then

Unplug C0505
C0505.JPG

the normal setup should be like in this table
C0505 inputs.jpg

Unplug the sensor use multimeter set on resistance and measure in the cavities while you bridge the pins of the plug with a screwdriver... you should see the closed circuit when you put the bridge on the supposed proper wire...what's certain is that if there was no mix-up at the SLABS the wires for front sensors there should be both green

cheers for that i'll have to have a play next weekend now lorry driver away most of week and dark when i get home
if i understand it right if i were checking front right wheel unplug sensor bridge the 2 pins on the wiring loom side then take reading from pins 4 and 5 in the plug from the slabs .
Then do same thing on other 3 wheels and pins accordingly
cheers Allan
p.s forgot to add fitted new battery 120ah 1000cca cos other one wasn't up to much and read battery could be cause of ploblem i've also read brake light switch can cause problems

Update done the tests you told me to do everything fine then checked wiring from plug at slabs with sensors connected all seemed ok .Then connected slabs checked faults front left 06-07 electrical fault 6 times brand new sensor and hub so double checked it for right number of teeth 60 it must of had intermittent fault on sensor cos when I put multimeter on it showed no reading but it did before so checked my old sensor with multimeter that seemed ok so fitted old sensor to new hub cleared all faults again took it for a run again on live test yippee no more 3 amigos .But then arg high no wheel speed from front right wheel no lights on but traction control kicked in and put brakes on so going to try same test on front right sensor tomorrow fingers crossed but that could be the hub .I've got a new hub 60 teeth but only 1 new rear sensor but it's looking like I'm sort of getting there wish me luck and thanks for your help

I can just wish you luck cos english is my 3'rd language and this kind of "condensed" phrases without any punctuation are above my comprehensive skills

Ok thanks anyway
Didn't know you wasn't English sorry for that
I am English and I don't understand it neither lol
Done the test's you told me to do
All the wiring correct at slabs
Then did resistance test on sensors front left not reading which is a new one so I changed that for the old one that came off when I fitted new hub I did a resistance test on it first
That has now cured my 3 amigos
I then took it for a drive 3 amigos fixed
But I still have not got any speed reading from front right wheel and traction control now operating and putting brakes on
So I will do same test on that wheel and see what readings I get
But guess what I live in England got up this morning and would you believe me if I told you its raining just for a change lol
