Had my 94 V8 ES auto for 6 months (and 6000 miles) now. Cost £1600 with 12 months tax/MOT off ebay. In good condition (warped dash, cruise and front sunroof don't work, but who cares :) ). Has a bit of rust on the rear floor, but not terminal yet. It is completely reliable after a new battery (£96). Had a dodgy gasket fixing for £50. Recent full service for £180. I bought it for a bit of weekend fun, but now drive it every day and my wife has inherited the XC90. Fuel consumption scary with a V8 auto ... 15 mpg !!!

Buy one .... these are more than just a means of transport ... they become part of the family.

Pat.

further question sorry lads, bought it on Saturday rear electric windows working fine, yesterday stopped working. HELP, could it be something simple? I have tried the button to unlock the rear windows before you all think I am a completely useless blonde.

This will answer your question, it is usually a dry joint on the ECU that controls the electric windows, look at the link below and click each image to enlarge, and you will see where to find it and how to repair. Simply quick solder jobbie.

so it wont be something simple like a fuse ?

No not normally, mine did this one day worked, another stopped, hit a pot hole and worked again, this is a very common fault on a Disco. If the rear windows freeze up and you try and move then the board takes the strain and usually melts a soldered joint before the fuse, BLOODY landrovers, lol

I am thinking about getting this guys to deal with my dashboard curl from Baermach, priced at £49. What do you think, expensive? can I get it cheaper? easy to fit?

£204 + vat for a 12,000 mile service, I nearly choked on my lollipop. Jesus, I thought going to an independant garage would save me more pennies than that compared to a Landrover dealer.
Perhaps I was being blonde, I hoped it would be around the £150 mark.

If that includes changing the gearbox oil (manual g/box, can't remember what box you have) checking both axle levels etc and includes all filters and fluids that sounds very reasonable to me.
