silly question (but not for me)

hi, im looking to upgrade my wheels and tyres on my defender, the ones I have at the moment are BFG M/T on the old steel wheels 225/75/16, im looking at getting the challenger steels with BFG A/T, 265/75/16.
The question is, what difference in height will this make, as its very tight in my garage and I don't want to buy if I cant get in the garage

Google wheel tyre sizes it gives you the difference between what you have and want in mm and inches

Search............. Go to BFG's web site and it will list the height and width of the tyres, you may want to consider spacers or off set rims.

Wheels are the same size 16"
Tyres are 40mm wider with same aspect ratio of 75%
So that makes 30mm roughly
assuming same flat spot at bottom

or you could always let the tyres down to get in the garage

Original tyre diameter is 743.9 mm
New tyre diameter is 803.9 mm

Blackcircles was the cheapest I could find when I got my BFG A/T's last year

True wheel is 60mm larger in diameter, but only 1/2 of that is below the axela and 1/2 above so the car will sit 30mm higher.
