Just returned to land rover ownership and would like to put some sill protectors on my series2a lwb but the all seem to be chequerplate. Does anyone know of steel alternatives I can paint?

I've seen some rock sliders which are plain and probably could be painted. I know you can get them for SWB models but not seen them for LWB

I'm not a chequerplate lover myself.
I think if I needed some I would nip down to my local fabrication shop and have a couple of lengths made up in aluminium. Its only a case of a six inch strip with an inch of it folded at 90 degrees.
Id have them made slightly over length and cut the ends myself to match the car shape.
